Spend a relaxed morning exploring the countryside around Upminster on an easy-going 7km social hike, before finishing back at The Huntsman & Hounds for optional food or drinks with the group.

Whether you're looking to meet new people, get some gentle exercise or simply swap the sofa for some fresh air, it's a great way to spend a weekend morning outdoors with good company.

This relaxed 7km circular walk is suitable for all fitness levels and is perfect if you're new to hiking or simply fancy an easy, sociable morning outdoors.

We'll keep the pace steady with plenty of opportunities to chat as we go, before finishing back at The Huntsman & Hounds, where anyone who'd like to stay is welcome to join us for food or a drink afterwards.

Coming alone?

Absolutely! Lots of people come to Essex Adventures events on their own, and you definitely won't be the only one.

Our hikes are designed to be friendly and sociable, and we'll make sure you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.

The Need-to-Knows

Start location: The Huntsman & Hounds, Upminster

Hike start time: Arrival at 10.15am for a prompt 10:30am start

Distance: Approximately 7km

Difficulty: Easy – relaxed social pace

Duration: Approximately 1.5–2 hours, depending on group pace and conditions

After the hike: We'll finish back at The Huntsman & Hounds, where you're very welcome to stay for optional food or drinks with the group.

Please allow enough time to park and check in before the walk begins. Unfortunately, we aren't able to wait for late arrivals and will start promptly at 10:30am.

Come and explore the Upminster countryside, enjoy a relaxed morning outdoors and meet a fantastic group of like-minded people.

Whether it's your first hike or your fiftieth, you'll be made to feel right at home.

What Should I Bring?

• Yourself - There is parking available on site

• Around 1–1.5 litres of water

• A small backpack

• Snacks if you'd like them

• Suitable walking footwear (much of the route is off-road, so walking boots are strongly recommended)

• A camera or phone if you'd like to capture the woodland scenery

• Money if you'd like to stay for food or drinks afterwards at The Huntsman & Hounds
