Blackmore Social Hike and Lunch

This 10km social hike takes us through the village of Blackmore and the surrounding Essex countryside on a relatively flat and beginner- friendly route . It's designed to be welcoming and sociable, with a steady pace and a good mix of fresh air, conversation and countryside.

After what feels like months of rain, we're more than ready to welcome in the longer evenings and hopefully some spring sunshine. This hike is the perfect way to shake off the last of the winter blues and get moving again with a supportive group.

We'll wrap up at The Leather Bottle for some food, drink and the chance to swap a few near-miss mudslide stories - The perfect way to round off a Sunday walk.

Itinerary

09:45 AM – Arrive at The Leather Bottle Pub car park (please arrive early to allow time to park and get ready)

10:00 AM – Start the hike

12:00–12:30 PM – Arrive back at the pub. Followed by lunch, drinks, and plenty of good company!

Getting There

📍 Start Location: The Leather Bottle, The Green, Blackmore. CM4 0RL

🚗 Car: Parking available on site (please car share where possible)

🚆 Train: Closest station – Brentwood or Shenfield station ( Elizabeth Line) - you will need to get a cab from the station to the start point.

Food & Drink

🍴 Bring water and a small snack for the hike.

🍽 Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a pub lunch and drinks at The Leather Bottle ( Optional extra and food and drinks not included in the event price).
