About
Brentwood Social Night Hike
Perfect for solo walkers and beginners
Join us for a relaxed evening countryside walk through the woodlands around Warley, followed by optional food or drinks at The Greyhound pub with the group.
Walking at night gives the trails a completely different feel, quieter paths, fresh evening air and a great social atmosphere as we explore the countryside together. If the weather is kind, we should also catch a beautiful sunset before darkness settles in, making it a perfect way to end the day outdoors.
⚠️ Important: You must bring a torch or headtorch as most of the route will be in darkness.
Who is it for?
This relaxed 5km circular route is perfect for all levels of fitness.
Whether you're new to hiking or just looking for a different way to spend an evening outdoors, the pace is sociable and welcoming — a great way to meet new people while enjoying the countryside.
The walk takes around 1–1.5 hours, finishing back at The Greyhound pub, where anyone who wants to can stay for food or drinks with the group.
Can I come alone?
Absolutely! Most people come along on their own and quickly get chatting.
We understand that first events can feel a bit daunting, but Jack and the team are there to welcome everyone and make sure the group feels relaxed and inclusive.
Everyone was a first-timer once. 😊

"Jacks hikes are very well organised and enjoyable. I have really enjoyed the several I’ve done already and can’t wait for the next one." Katie - Jun25
"I had a great evening at the Essex Adventures night hiking and local business networking event. It was a really refreshing way to meet people. Instead of the usual formal networking setting, we were out in the countryside, enjoying the fresh air, a bit of mud and the occasional boggy patch along the way. The walk finished with a visit to the Theydon Oak, which was a perfect place to warm up and continue the conversations. It was a great opportunity to chat properly with people without everyone staring at their mobile phones, which made the whole experience feel much more relaxed and genuine. A big thank you to Jake for arranging the event. Really well organised and a brilliant idea for bringing local businesses together in a different environment. Looking forward to the next one." Matthew, March 26
"It was a lovely walk with nice people. Would highly recommend and will definitely make it a regular experience" Leza, Sep25
