London Christmas Social Hike & Festive Lunch

Get into the festive spirit with a relaxed 10km social hike through London, taking in some of the capital’s most iconic landmarks, Christmas lights and plenty of festive atmosphere along the way.

Starting at Tower Hill, we’ll make our way through central London, stopping for a Christmas drink along the route before finishing at a pub for an optional festive lunch and drinks with the group.

Christmas jumpers, Santa hats and questionable festive accessories are very much encouraged!

Is this hike for me?

This is an easy, relaxed 10km city walk suitable for all fitness levels.

We’ll be walking at a sociable pace with plenty of opportunities to chat, take photos and enjoy the sights along the way. As this is a city route, expect paved paths and busy areas rather than traditional hiking terrain.

Coming alone?

Absolutely! Lots of people come to Essex Adventures events on their own, and you definitely won’t be the only one.

Our hikes are designed to be friendly and sociable, and we’ll make sure you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.

Itinerary

10:45am – Meet at Tower Hill Underground Station, by the Tower of London entrance

11:00am – Christmas social hike begins

Around 12:00pm – Festive drink stop along the route

Around 1:30pm – Finish at the pub for optional festive lunch and drinks

Timings are approximate and may vary slightly on the day

Getting there

Meeting point: Tower Hill Underground Station

Nearest lines: Circle & District

Tower Hill is easily accessible by public transport from London and Essex.

Parking is available nearby, including Minories Car Park, although we recommend travelling by public transport where possible.

Please note: This is a point-to-point route and we will finish in a different location from where we start.

What to bring

Comfortable walking shoes or trainers and clothing suitable for the weather.

Please bring water and any snacks you would like during the walk.

We’ll stop for a festive drink along the route before finishing at a pub, where you’ll have the option to stay for lunch and drinks with the group. Food and drinks are not included in your event ticket.

And, of course, Christmas jumpers, Santa hats and festive outfits are very welcome.
