Fancy taking on your biggest adventure yet? Join Essex Adventures for a long weekend in Southern Spain as we summit three legendary peaks of the Sierra Nevada:

Mulhacén (3,482m), Pico del Caballo (3,011m), and Veleta (3,395m).

To put it into perspective — you’ll be hiking mountains well over twice the height of the UK’s tallest peak, Ben Nevis (1,345m). This is a true step up from UK hiking and a genuine mountain challenge.

The Experience

We’ll be based in a 3-star hotel at approximately 1,500m, giving you proper rest and comfort after big summit days. Each day we’ll head higher into the mountains, using a mountain bus to reach around 2,700m before hiking on foot to the summits.

Over three action-packed days, expect:

• Turquoise glacial lagoons

• Vast open landscapes

• Panoramic views stretching to the Mediterranean — and even North Africa on clear days

This challenge is suitable for fit hikers with good endurance who want to step beyond UK hills and experience real high-mountain terrain — without technical climbing.

Altitude & Fitness Expectations

This adventure takes place at high altitude, with hiking reaching up to 3,482m. While we use transport to reduce unnecessary fatigue, participants should be prepared for:

• Thinner air

• Consecutive long hiking days

Training Program will be provided. No mountaineering experience is required — just solid fitness, determination, and a positive mindset.
