Upminster Evening Hike & Curry Night

Perfect for solo walkers, beginners and anyone looking to get outdoors after work.

Join us for a relaxed summer evening walk through the local countryside around Belus Woods, followed by Sir Henry's popular Tuesday Curry Night for anyone who'd like to stay afterwards.

There's no better way to start the week than getting outdoors, stretching your legs and enjoying some good company. Whether you've had a busy day at work, been running around after the family or simply fancy getting out of the house for a couple of hours, this is the perfect chance to switch off, get some fresh air and meet a great group of like-minded people.

Staying for Curry Night afterwards is completely optional, but it's a brilliant way to carry on the conversation over some great food and get to know everyone a little better.

Is This Walk for Me?

Absolutely.

This relaxed 5km circular walk is suitable for all fitness levels and is one of our most popular social events.

The pace is steady with plenty of opportunities to chat as we go, making it ideal if you're new to walking groups or simply fancy an easy evening outdoors.

The walk usually takes around 1–1½ hours before returning to Sir Henry's. Anyone who'd like to is welcome to stay for Curry Night or simply join us for a drink afterwards.

Coming on Your Own?

Don't worry – most people do.

We know walking into something new can feel a little daunting, but you'll be greeted by Jack and the Essex Adventures team, and before long you'll be chatting away with the rest of the group.

Everyone starts somewhere, and our community is built around making people feel welcome from the moment they arrive.

The Need-to-Knows

• Start Location: Sir Henry's, Aveley British Restaurant | Sir Henry's | Essex

• Hike Start Time: Arrival from 6:50pm for a 7:00pm prompt start

• Please note that the group will leave promptly at 7:00pm. Unfortunately, we are unable to delay the walk or wait for late arrivals, so please allow plenty of time to park and check in before the start.

• Difficulty: Social / Easy

• Duration: Approximately 1–1.5 hours

Curry Night

After the walk, Sir Henry's will be serving their popular Tuesday Curry Night.

For £12.95, you can enjoy their curry of the day, with a selection of optional sides and drinks available to purchase separately. The Essex Adventures team have personally sampled the curries (purely in the interest of quality control, of course!) and can happily confirm they're well worth staying for.

Not in the mood for a curry? No problem. Sir Henry's full menu will also be available, although alternative dishes may incur an additional charge.

If you're just joining us for the walk, simply select the Hike Only ticket when booking.

What Do I Need to Bring?

• Yourself

• Around 1 litre of water

• Suitable walking footwear (much of the route is off-road, so walking boots are recommended)

• A camera or phone if you'd like to capture the evening scenery

• If you would like to join the Curry Night please select the Hike & Curry ticket when checking out. This will cover the cost of your curry and serve as a deposit for the restaurant. Any additional sides, drinks or alternative menu choices incurring an additional charge will need to be paid for separately on the night.
