Perfect for solo walkers and beginners

Join us for a relaxed summer evening walk through the local countryside around Aveley, followed by optional food or drinks at Sir Henry's with the group.

There's something special about getting outdoors on a warm summer evening. Longer days, fresh air, great conversation and the chance to unwind after work with a friendly group of like-minded people.

Whether you're looking to meet new people, get some gentle exercise or simply enjoy the outdoors, this is the perfect way to spend a summer evening.

Who is it for?

This relaxed 5km circular route is perfect for all levels of fitness.

Whether you're completely new to hiking or simply looking for a social evening outdoors, the pace is relaxed, welcoming and designed to give everyone a chance to chat along the way.

The walk takes approximately 1–1.5 hours before returning to Sir Henry's, where anyone who would like to can stay for food or drinks afterwards.

Coming alone?

Nothing to worry about! Most people come along on their own and quickly get chatting.

We understand that first events can feel a little daunting, but Jack and the team are there to welcome everyone and help create a friendly, inclusive atmosphere from the moment you arrive.

Everyone was a first-timer once. 😊

The Need-to-Knows

📍 Start Location: Sir Henry's, Aveley

🕖 Hike Start Time: Arrival from 6:50pm for a 7:00pm prompt start

⚠️ Please note that the group will leave promptly at 7:00pm. Unfortunately, we are unable to delay the walk or wait for late arrivals, so please allow plenty of time to park and check in before the start.

⏱️ Duration: Approximately 1–1.5 hours

What Do I Need to Bring?

💧 Water – Around 1 litre recommended

🥾 Suitable footwear – Much of the route is off-road so walking boots are strongly recommended.

📸 Camera – Summer evening walks often produce some fantastic photos and sunsets

🍻 Money for food or drinks at Sir Henry's – Completely optional, but we'd love you to join us afterwards
